NOLA’s own Papa Grows Funk helped to continue the 2012 Jazzfest festivities and late night music appreciation during their Bayou Rendezvous set at Howlin’ Wolf on May 4th, 2012. The band would bust out originals and team up with Bonerama horns later in the show. They’d even bring up Eric McFadden for a ripping encore of their recent title track release, Needle in The Groove. Just in from Yonder Mountain String Band camp…
We’re very proud to announce the complete schedule for our upcoming Fall Tour this October. Tickets will go on presale starting this Friday, July 27th at 12 noon local venue time with the general onsale starting one week later on Friday, August 3rd at the exact same time. We’ll be roaming all over the Eastern US on this trip, all the way down south to Georgia & North Carolina, then storming through the heart of the Midwest before heading northeast again to wrap things up. Come join us on the road this Fall!

The Strangefolk reunion shows continued once again at this year’s Gathering of The Vibes Music Festival in Bridgeport, CT. It was the first time the four original members (Reid Genauer – Guitar/Vocals, John Trafton – Guitar/Vocals, Erik Glockler – Bass, and Luke Smith – Drums) played together at Vibes since 2000.

The Folly Beach, South Carolina trio, Dangermuffin, held a CD release party in their homestate at the Music Farm in Charleston on May 12th. The event showcased the band’s new material from the “Olly Oxen Free” follow up to the 2010 “Moonscapes” release which could be considered the band’s breakout album. Highlights included the entire Olly Oxen Free tracklist, fan favorite Moonscapes, and a cover of The Grateful Dead’s “Franklin’s Tower”.
