JJ Grey and Mofro Announce New Album and Spring Tour

Jacksonville-based singer/songwriter JJ Grey will release THIS RIVER on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. This is Grey’s seventh album (his fifth for Alligator Records) and his first studio album since 2010′s acclaimed Georgia Warhorse. The New York Times says Grey’s singing is “impassioned” and the band plays “riff-based Southern rock, cold-blooded swamp funk and sly Memphis soul.”

Rock Candy Funk Party is a celebatory band spinning a fresh take on 70′s and 80′s funk and jazz. The group is powered by a lineup of world renowned players: album producer Tal Bergman (drums), Joe Bonamassa (guitar), Ron DeJesus (guitar), Mike Merritt (bass) and Renato Neto (keys) who got together for this project in the sheer joy of making music and a mutual love on genre-blurring grooves. Assembly of Dust is the latest band to jump on the Kickstarter series offering fans unique kickbacks for their generous contributions to help fund the new ‘Sun Shot’ record. The working title release features nine brand new songs and four never recorded. Patrons will have options of selecting packages which get extremely unique as the value of the contribution goes up.
