MP3 OF THE DAY: Mr. Blotto Performs Allman Brothers “Eat a Peach” Album at Blottopia 13

Chicago’s Mr. Blotto held their annual midwest festival at a new venue for the 13th installment of Blottopia and twelfth one to feature a surprise album encore cover.  Past ones included takes on Bob Marley’s ‘Babylon By Bus’, The Grateful Dead’s “Terrapin Station”, Aerosmith ‘Toys in the Attic’, The Doors ‘The Doors’, and even Phish’s ‘Gamehendge’. Links to all album encores found below.

On July 28th and after four sets of originals a live staple covers, the band would rip out a stunning version of The Allman Brother’s Band classic 1972 album, and last one to feature the great Duane Allman, “Eat a Peach” at Iron Horse Park in Sabula, Iowa.

And what better timing for a soundboard matrix to be posted on Archive.org then right after The Allman’s delivering their first annual Peach Music Festival this past weekend at Montage Mountain in Scranton, PA. So while the buzz is still fresh, today’s download from Mr. Blotto is a true ‘Allman Joy’.
