MP3 OF THE DAY: Nate Wilson Group vs Black Sabbath – Halloween 2009

During the Endless Boundaries Jam Radio Halloween Special this past weekend, Nate Wilson Group’s (now entitled Ghosts of Jupiter) take on Black Sabbath’s Planet Caravan, closed out the program. This was only a taste of what NWG offered up to the crowd at the Halloween show at the Stone Church in Newmarket, NH in 2009. Nate’s vocals are all tripped out with mixing board effects to recreate a wonderful rendition of the Sabbath ballad.

Probably the best version heard and rivaling Pantera’s take on the classic. These other tributes (War Pigs and The Wizard), are spot on, especially guitarist Adam Terrell and his complete tone control with uncanny ability to channel Black Sabbath guitarist, Tony Iommi. These nods to Sabbath are true treats rather then tricks for Halloween adventurists.

And just because I brought up the Pantera tribute, check it out. Phil Anselmo has a great voice when he actually sings rather the traditional Pantera scream rock.
