A band that continue to make serious headway after its recent release of Boys and Girls on ATO Records is Alabama Shakes. The band is lead by blistering and powerful female vocalist and pianist Brittany Howard surrounded by the dirty yet clean (oxymoron?) soul blues funk rock sounds of Heath Fogg on guitar, Zac Cockrell on Bass, and Steve Johnson holding it down on drums and percussion.
